Otherwise, let a professional check and fix it as quickly as possible.

LG Air Conditioner Error Code CH 05 – Meaning and Solution

When you see this error code, it indicates that the indoor and outdoor units have an error in communication. You may notice that the outside unit has 53 displayed on it when the indoor unit is showing 05. These codes appear when there is incorrect wiring

Check the power supply to the indoor and outdoor units to ensure the supply is up to the required voltage. If not, correct the voltage supply as necessary. It should be 230 volts, plus or minus 10%. While doing so, check the wiring and correct any mistakes as needed.

If that does not work, you can further test with a multimeter. Set the multimeter to DC volts and check between terminals two or Earth and five on the outside condensing unit. Place the black meter probe on terminal two and the red probe on terminal five. The Vdc should be a fluctuating 0-72.

If you do not see this voltage, pull out the cable at terminal five and run a voltage test between terminal two and terminal five, using the black probe for two and the red one for five. The voltage should be steady at this point and should be between -0.1 and -10.0. If it is not within this range, the indoor PCB may be defective or the terminal five cable is faulty.

Disconnect the communication wire in the indoor unit and check the voltage output on its terminal. If there is no voltage, replace the PCB but if there is voltage, replace the terminal five cable.

LG Air Conditioner Error Code CH 38 – Meaning and Solution

The error code appears when the air conditioner’s refrigerant level is low. It is one way to alert you and protect the unit from damage. Sometimes, it will appear after you have been using the unit for a while. Other times, it will appear after installation or reinstallation.

If it appears after you have been using it for some time, it may be a minor electrical fault from power fluctuations. Disconnect the unit from electric power and power off the circuit breaker. Wait about five minutes and power on the circuit breaker. Restore power to the unit and check to see if the code reappears. If it does, you need to get professional help. The same applies if the source of the code is low refrigerant.

LG Air Conditioner Error Code CH 23 – Meaning and Solution

The error code represents a problem in the inverter circuit’s DC part. The DC voltage flowing to the inverter is less than the minimum 140 DC voltage. Typically, the voltage should be 600 for three-phase units and 370 for single-phase units.

The problem may stem from the inverter charging resistor. If it is defective, it will cause the DC voltage to drop and the error code appears. While the air conditioner is running, check the supply of DC voltage to the inverter. If your unit is a single-phase type and the voltage is less than 370 volts, replace the resistor. The same solution applies if your unit is a three-phase type and the voltage is less than 600 volts.

The motor of the fan in the indoor unit is not running. When this happens, the unit displays this error code. The problem may stem from an electrical failure or a mechanical fault. Check the motor to ensure nothing is snagged in it, preventing it from running. Also, ensure the bearings are not worn and the motor is sound electrically with no open circuit.

Furthermore, check the PCB that supplies electric power to the motor to be sure it is supplying the required amount of voltage. And the rotation feedback circuit must be in good working condition. A multimeter will help you determine whether or not there is an open circuit or a lack of power supply.

LG Air Conditioner Error Code CH 22 – Meaning and Solution

The inverter compressor has a high current and may get damaged. The error code appears to alert you of this problem. Therefore, it is crucial to find a quick solution, ideally from a trained professional. Since it involves live voltage and the compressor, it is best to leave the repair to a qualified HVAC technician.

LG Air Conditioner Error Code 09 – Meaning and Solution

When you see this error code, you may want to check the PCB assembly. When the wrong type of PCB assembly is installed, the error code appears and the air conditioning unit will not. While checking the PCB, take a look at the EEPROM to ensure it is fully fixed into the socket. Also, check to see if there are dry joints. These are problems that trigger the error code. Replace the PCB if there is none or the wrong type was installed.

LG Air Conditioner Beeping Error – What to Do

If the air conditioner is a window unit, the beeping may be an alert that the air filter is due for a replacement. Dirty air filters cannot work optimally and it reduces the quality of air in your home as well as puts the unit’s components at risk. Check and replace the filter if necessary. Also, replace it every three months for the best results.

The beeping sound may also mean the remote needs new batteries. It is a way to tell you to remove the old batteries so that they do not leak fluid and damage the remote. If the batteries have been in use for longer than one year, it is time to replace them.

When the power goes out, a sensor within the unit may begin beeping as an alert. Check the breaker and turn it on if it is tripped. If not, reset the breaker by turning it off and on. But if the breaker is not the problem, then an internal sensor may be defective. The beeping may also mean the condensation in your unit is excessive. Contact an HVAC service agent to check and service the air conditioner if necessary.

LG Air Conditioner Error Code CH 52 – Meaning and Solution

Error code Ch 52 indicates that there is an error in communication between the main PCB of the outdoor unit and the inverter PCB. Before replacing any part, you may want to check the fuses. A blown fuse can cause the PCB to malfunction and it is easier to replace. If all the fuses and LEDs are in good working condition, then you may have to test both PCBs and replace the faulty ones. Consider using the services of a service technician to do the job.

LG Air Conditioner Error Code E5 – Meaning and Solution

The error code means that the water collection tank in your air conditioner is full and needs emptying. Remove the drain cap at the bottom of the tank and leave it off until all the water in the tank drains. Put the cap back in place and check the air conditioner. The error code should disappear.

LG Air Conditioner Error Code E3 – Meaning and Solution

The air conditioner has little or no refrigerant when you see the error code. The same applies if the unit displays error code Ch 03. The best solution is to hire a qualified technician to check the cooling lines and find the leaks. Then, they can recharge the system with refrigerant.

Typically, refrigerant is recycled. Because it usually runs in a closed system, there is never a need to add more as long as the appliance is working unless there is a leak. And while the refrigerant is not hazardous to health in small amounts, it can adversely affect you if inhaled in a large quantity.

LG Air Conditioner FL Error Code – Meaning and Solution

When you see the FL error code, it means the drain pan is full. The same applies if the error code is P2. Typically, the pan should not have enough water to affect the functionality of the unit. There is a slinger fan that slings the water in the pan to the condenser coil to help dissipate and lower heat.

Tilt the air conditioner a little towards the back after removing the cap over the drain port. That way, the standing water can drain. If it remains, the drain line may be blocked and you need to clear it.

When the air is humid and the unit is in Cool mode, the drain pan will fill up quickly due to the moisture in the air and the error code will keep reappearing. It does not mean something is wrong. Instead, it means the air conditioner is operating well. But you can lower the fan speed to reduce the frequency at which the pan fills. Also, ensure you close every door and window for a more controlled environment.

However, you may have to reset the air conditioner if the error code remains when the drain pan is empty. Disconnect the unit from electric power, leave it for about ten seconds, and reconnect it to electric power. Turn on the air conditioner by pressing the power button. Wait to see if the code appears again. If it does, contact LG and request immediate service.

LG Air Conditioner Error – Lights Flashing

The refrigerant in the air conditioning unit may be too low and is affecting the functionality of the unit. Also, loose wires can cause the unit to flash. Check for loose connections in the unit as well as the refrigerant level. These problems will require professional assistance to fix. Therefore, contact LG for support, especially if you have an active warranty. Otherwise, hire a qualified independent technician for assistance.

LG Air Conditioner HL Error – Meaning and Solution

An HL error code on your LG split air conditioning unit means the float switch has an open circuit. In other words, it is no longer working. The best solution is to replace the switch to prevent an overflow of the drain pan, especially when the drain line is obstructed. This can cause the air conditioner to stop cooling.

LG Air Conditioner Error Code 21 – Meaning and Solution

The DC power circuit of the inverter has too much current, causing the error code to appear. If the current is more than 14 amps, you will see the code. The compressor may be ground to earth or have an open circuit. The inverter PCB may also be faulty, leading to the current problem.

Go to the unit’s compressor and disconnect the electrical connections. Next, check the resistance of the windings of the compressor using a multimeter. Go from U to V and V to W, then W back to U; you should get values that range between 0.25 ohms and 5 ohms at each point.

Now, check the resistance of the windings of the compressor to Earth. With a high voltage meter, check the resistance of any compressor terminal to an Eath point, which is a pipe; the compressor usually has three terminals. You should get more than 2 M ohms. If these results are not what you get, you will need a technician to look at the compressor and find a solution.

LG Air Conditioner Error Code CH 35 – Meaning and Solution

The error code may indicate that there is excessive low pressure, either because the pressure sensor is faulty or there is not enough refrigerant in the system. You may have to check and replace the sensor if it is no longer working. Otherwise, check for leaks in the closed system and repair them before adding more refrigerant.

What Does E4 Mean on an LG Air Conditioner?
