The reason is that most air conditioners have a lifespan of 20 years, so those manufactured in the ‘80s should be out of circulation or nearing their end.
Style Three
The third style was also used in the 1980s, precisely between 1980 and 1984. You can differentiate the years by checking how the number is sequenced. In this style, the serial number starts with a letter, followed by a number, another letter, and ends with five numbers.
The first letter in the sequence represents the month of manufacture, and the first number represents the manufacture year. You may find a serial number like this – T3A12345. Below is a table showing the letters and what month they represent:

The first one or two numbers represent the week of manufacture, and the alphabet represents the year of manufacture.
